Dear BASOC Volunteers,
With less than four weeks to go until the
USOC decides upon its U.S. Candidate City
on November 2, everybody at BASOC is working
together to finish final submissions and
prepare for our final presentations. Thanks
very much to everybody who has been helping
with recent events; the help at the BASOC
office and at Bay Area events has been invaluable
and greatly appreciated.
If everybody hasn't been to the BASOC website
recently (www.basoc2012.org), a new and
improved version went live last week. You're
now able to download both our original bid
submissions and the bid addendum, in addition
to a variety of brochures that we've produced.
Look to be able to download the Executive
Summary - our 100-page submission that the
USOC received yesterday - next Tuesday,
October 15.
There are many volunteer opportunities to
help over the coming days and weeks:

San Francisco Bay Area: Rally for
2012
BASOC and San Jose State’s football
program will hold "Rally for 2012”
at Spartan Stadium on October 26th beginning
at noon. This is the final major event
in support of the SF Bay Area 2012 Olympic
Bid, just one week before the USOC selection
of the U.S. Candidate City. This is
the last chance for the Bay Area to show
their support of the Bid effort and send
a message to the USOC voters. In addition,
attendees will get to watch the first place
San Jose State Spartan football team in
their next big home game against Boise State
with the game starting at 2 p.m.
Prior to the game, Olympians will conduct
free clinics in a variety of different sports.
There will be an area for autograph signing
and a “meet and greet” tent
to meet and talk with Northern California
Olympians. There will be many other
activities for fans of all ages. At
halftime, Anne Warner Cribbs, BASOC President
& CEO and 1960 Olympian, will speak
to the crowd. A stadium card display
will be photographed to show the great SF
Bay Area support.
There are many opportunities to help. General
areas of volunteer needs include:
• Event logistics – specific
event management and project management
skills
• Event marketing and promotion –
support spreading the word and driving sales
• Corporate partnership solicitation
– selling corporate partnership opportunities
to the business community
• Event execution – onsite help
conducting activities during the event such
as clinics and other (these will be detailed
over the next couple days)
This is an exciting event where everybody
is invited to share his or her support.

above, please contact Chris Taylor at volunteer@tagergroup.com.
