For almost 14 years, Jan yanehiro said she had "the best job in the world." From 1976 to 1990, she hosted "Evening Magazine," a nightly program on KPIX TV in San Francisco. As the founding co-host of the show, Yanehiro traveled the world in search of intersting people and places in Japan, Russia, China, Australia, Europe, Mexico, and all over California and the United States.
For her work on "Evening Magazine," Yanheiro received several Emmys and awards for on-air talent and entertainment programming. She has been inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' (NATAS) Hall of Fame and named a "Woman of Distinction" by Girl Scouts, USA.
Currently Yanehiro co-hosts "Appraise It!" on Home and Garden TV and hosts "Women of Vision" and "The New Americans" on KCSM TV. Yanehiro also consults as the executive director of Business Development for the California State Automobile Association (CSAA-AAA) and reports on KCBS newsradio for "AAA's Weekend Travel Tips."
Born and raised in Hawaii, Yanehiro graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a degree in Journalism. Married to Robert Eves, a land developer and builder, Jan has five children - Jacyln, Jenna, J.B., Meredith and Christopher. She has co-authored two books: "Having a Baby" (1984) and "After Having a Baby" (1988) and is currently working on a third book on women and leadership.
