James Woolwine is the chairman and CEO of Golden Gate Bank in San Francisco. Golden Gate Bank, a subsidiary of Greater Bay Bancorp, is a private bank dealing exclusively with professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs. Woolwine has spent the last 25 years in banking, primarily focusing on corporate and private services. Woolwine has past banking experience with First Chicago and the Bank of California in Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Woolwine is a member of the Corporate Board of Delta Dental of California and serves on the Board of Trustees of CHW Bay Area, a regional healthcare provider headquartered in San Francisco. He is the Northern California chairman of the U.S. Olympic Committee. He is a past director of the California Bankers Association and a recipient of the Man and Youth Award from the San Francisco Boys and Girls Club. Woolwine is also an avid golfer. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master's from the University of Chicago.
