Buzz Schulte, a San Francisco native, has been involved with real estate development for 43 years in the Bay Area. He currently has a number of developments in the California Central Valley, the Oregon coast, Washington and Nevada. He has been on the San Jose Sports Authority Board since its inception and is a past president of the Fifty-Plus Fitness Association, based at Stanford University. The Association holds a number of athletic events, seminars and clinics for the purpose of encouraging health and fitness for individuals over the age of 50.
Schulte not only works to encourage athletics; he is an active participant. In 1989 Schulte participated as a member of the U.S. Masters Team for the World Masters Event held in Eugene, OR, which attracts 6,000 master athletes. He finished in the top 25 in both the five and the 20-kilometer racewalking. He is also an avid ocean kayaker, golfer, cyclist, skier, and martial arts performer.
