Joe Schell is chairman of Merrill Lynch's Global Technology Investment Banking Group, one of the world's leading technology banking operations. Since joining Merrill Lynch in February 2000, Joe has moved boldly and aggressively, more than doubling the size of the firm's investment banking team to nearly 150 professionals. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Joe was head of investment banking at Montgomery Securities for 15 years. After the acquisition of Montgomery Securities, Joe headed investment banking at Bank of America Securities through early 1999.
Joe began his investment banking career in 1973 after graduating from Harvard Business School. Prior to Harvard, Joe was in the U.S. Navy and graduated with an economics degree from Amherst College in 1968. He lives in Atherton with his wife of 30 years.
