Jeffrey Ken Mori is the Executive Director of Asian American Recovery Services, Inc., in San Francisco. Prior to his appointment in 1998, Mori served two years as director of the Mayor's Office of Children, Youth and Their Families. He is involved in numerous civic and community activities, among them; the City of San Francisco Japan Center Garage Corporation; the Committee to Renew the Children's Amendment; the Japantown Planning, Preservation & Development Task Force and he is also co-director of the San Francisco Youth Fund.
For his efforts Mori was recognized by the California State Assembly in 1999 and given a Senate of the State of California Commendation for an Exemplary Record in Civic Leadership in 1998, the Distinguished Asian Leadership Award for Distinguished Community Service in 1995 and many other awards. Mori graduated from California State University, San Francisco in 1976 and received his master's degree in elementary education from the University of San Francisco in 1979.
