Regina Jacobs, Olympian

Regina Jacobs has redefined the meaning of a versatile athlete. This three-time Olympian boasts 21 National Championships titles, including 14 outdoor titles, the most by any long distance runner. Ever eager for a new challenge, Jacobs has excelled at distances ranging from the 800 meters to the 5,000 meters, a range that showcases both her strength and speed, as well as incredible endurance.

While she has been the national champion for the outdoor 1500 meters ten times, she holds American records in the 1000 meters (2:31.8) and the 5000 meters (14:45.35). Most recently, she was the National Indoors Champion in the mile and the National Cross Country champion at 4000 meters.

Jacobs is not one to rest on her previous accomplishments —at some point she would like to try out the 10,000 meters and possibly a marathon 'for fun.'

Jacobs was born in Los Angeles and attended Stanford University, where she was a four-time All-American in cross country, for her B.S. in English and Communications. Jacobs first stormed into the elite running scene at her first Olympic Trials at age 16.

She now lives in Oakland, California with husband Tom and her trusty training partner and dog, Floyd.
