Michael Hardeman is the business manager of Local 510, Sign Display Union. Local 510 (an affiliate of Painters District Council 36 in Los Angeles) is part of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades.
Hardeman started work as a sign painter 24 years ago, doing hand-painted billboards and window signs. He has committed to service both his union and the community, and serves as a co-chair and trustee on the pension and health and welfare plan. He is also a trustee for the Office and Professional Workers Trust Fund.
Hardeman is a member of the San Francisco Port Commission, a board member of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, president of the International Relations Research Association and sits on the advisory board for the Salvation Army.
