The second time was the charm for Brian Boitano who‚ in his second Olympic Winter Games‚ in Calgary‚ took home the Gold in figure skating. His love of the sport has led to more than 50 titles and awards, including 23 international gold medals, two World titles, two Pro/Am titles, 16 professional titles and four U.S. National titles. This, coupled with his achievement in Calgary, earned him membership in the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame and the World Hall of Fame.
Boitano won an Emmy for his role in "Carmen on Ice" and currently stars in "Champions on Ice." He is also a member of the ABC Sports team of expert commentators. In 1998, Boitano founded YOUTH SKATE, a charity that teaches San Francisco inner-city kids to ice skate. In its inaugural year, more than 600 children learned to skate under this program.
