A. Lee Blitch has been elected to lead the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce as President and CEO for the new millennium. Blitch, who retired from AT&T as region vice president in December 2000 after 36 years with the company, has served on the Chamber's board of directors since 1997, and as chair of the board in 2000. Blitch's experience runs from line operations and marketing, through international operations, government affairs and product management. His most notable successes came in the areas of diversity, technology and marketing innovations.
Blitch serves as a board member of the Committee on Jobs, SFWorks, United Way of the Bay Area, the San Francisco Partnership and San Francisco School Volunteers. He also serves on the boards of the Council for Basic Education, the Los Angeles County School System Foundation and the Los Angeles County Technology for Learning Foundation.
