Jack F. Bair joined the San Francisco Giants in January 1993 as the Director of Legal & Governmental Affairs‚ advancing to Senior Vice President & General Counsel in October 1999. Bair oversees all of the team's legal matters and manages its relations with the City & County of San Francisco and other governmental agencies. He was the key architect of the Giants' plans to build a new ballpark in San Francisco as well as the 1996 campaign for the new park.
Prior to joining the Giants‚ Bair was a Deputy City Attorney for the City & County of San Francisco. He was the attorney assigned to direct the legal effort to save the Giants in 1992 from being sold and relocated to Florida. Before working at the City Attorney's Office‚ Bair practiced law at the San Francisco law firm of Farella, Braun & Martel. He also serves as an officer of the Giants Community Fund. He played and coached baseball in San Francisco for several years. Bair is a graduate of the University of California‚ Davis and Yale Law School.
