“As a destination, San Francisco is at the top of everyone’s list whether it’s for a vacation or the 2012 Olympic Games. As a source for scenic beauty, mild climate, and athletic venues, San Francisco stands alone at the top of that list.

The Bay Area has proudly shaped both Winter and Summer Olympians: Bruce Jenner, Mark Spitz, Pablo Morales, John Nabor, Donna DeVarona, Brian Boitano, Kristi Yamaguchi, and myself. We excelled in part because of the respect and love for athletes that exists here. We excelled in greater measure because of the inspiration that surrounded us.

We hope to welcome the 2012 Games and its athletes to our beautiful city…and to share its inspiration with the world.”
