United States Olympic Committee to Select U.S. Candidate City for 2012 Olympic Games
September 20, 2002COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - - The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) Board of Directors will select the U.S. candidate city for the 2012 Olympic Games when its meets Saturday, November 2 in Colorado Springs.
The board meeting, which is scheduled to continue Sunday, November 3, will be in the Broadmoor International Center.
Prior to the full-board vote on Saturday afternoon, representatives of the New York 2012 and San Francisco 2012 will each make an one-hour presentation to the group. Board members also will have an opportunity to ask questions of the bid city officials.
Following the vote, representatives of the USOC and the U.S. candidate city will participate in a press conference.
The International Olympic Committee will choose its host city for the 2012 Olympic Games in 2005.
