San Francisco 2012 has relocated the Cycling Track venue to the Santa Clara Soccer Park in the city of Santa Clara. This velodrome will be located only 8 kilometers from the Olympic Village at Moffet Field and provides excellent transit access.

San Francisco 2012 plans to develop a temporary venue, similar to the one created in Atlanta in 1996, except that the venue will include a fabric-structure roof to protect athletes and spectators.

Further, San Francisco 2012 will relocate this velodrome after the Olympic and Paralympic Games to the city of Antioch in the East Bay, a city which has expressed an intense desire to develop a velodrome (but which is lcoated too distant from the Olympic Village). The city of Antioch will support the relocated velodrome as a legacy for the sport in Northern California and the United States.
