After the world has bid goodbye to San Francisco, the last medals have been awarded and the torch has been extinguished, BASOC has ensured that the spirit of the Olympics won't be so quick to fade. The establishment of Legacy 2012 is a joint effort between BASOC and various youth sports organizations to make certain that increasing numbers of San Francisco Bay Area youth will get the chance to participate in athletics. By setting up grants, establishing sports clubs and initiating coaching education programs, Legacy 2012 will give all young people the opportunity to experience the benefits of sport.
